In February 2005, Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) began in Toronto by the Arab Students’ Collective at the University of Toronto. The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement has recognized IAW as “a key part of the international BDS movement for Palestinian rights.” In the decades since its inception, IAW has become a globally practiced anti-Israel staple, held annually in March by local groups with overarching, collective goals.
