‘Guelph Police say a place of worship has been vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti at least three times in the last month.
“Since the end of May, police have repeatedly been called to a location near Gordon Street and College Avenue,” a media release said.
Police did not identify the place of worship, but Chabad Guelph told CTV News that their pop-up location had previously been hit with “heinous anti-Semitic graffiti.”
The latest incident was reported at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
“It is not known if the three incidents are related,” the release said.
Police also shared two images of a person they are trying to identify as part of their investigation. The individual was wearing all black, carried a black backpack and had a bike.
“We want to assure the public that we take all reported crime, including hate-motivated crime, very seriously,” the media release said, noting that the case was now in the hands of Guelph Police’s Hate Crime Investigative Unit.’
